WORK apparition

MATERIALS photoluminescent resin, silver and brass gold plated

DESCRIPTION The work presented is a collaboration of Catarina Dias and Inês Nunes, in a refletion and discussion about social, politic and religious issues. This discussions drove us to the miracle of Nª Sra. de Fátima. The action takes place exploring the potencial of this photoluminescent resin, cutting the original objects in several pieces to be adapted to the body. Testing the potency of the real object / body, deconstructing an image affective identity of Portugal, where the gesture draws the shape and the material reflects the action. *Pictures by Pedro Sequeira

WORK pin em linhas rectas

MATERIALS pin, 100x25x1 mm //stainless steel and alpaca with gold plated

DESCRIPTION PIN in straight lines This metal scale has always been with me. It allowed to draw straight lines, to measure small distances and to create so many other objects. Today this instrument is a pin in honor to the PIN- Portuguese association of contemporary jewelry. Synonymous with accuracy, so that the PIN continues to affirm its route for many years. This piece belongs to a private collector.

WORK blue square

MATERIALS painted wood, 40x40x4 mm

DESCRIPTION My idea of square, multiplied in 24 different blue pins structurally change when they are being manipulated. Starting from flat geometry, bounded by four straight lines closed between them. They are 4cm and its right angles are associated to stability, permanence and balance. They are neutral, however made from hardwood solids. To use the square, we should carefully pull the brake pin and fix it to the breast, by positioning it in the best position to read and feel it. Inside each black box there is a pin that always cohabits with an original poem the portuguese modernist poet Leonel Ventorim / Inês Nunes for Portugal Modernista.
